So many people are getting themselves addicted to drugs nowadays, and two of my friends are no exceptions. I figured maybe if I could get someone from a drug rehab to talk to them, maybe then they’d get convinced that they have to get themselves treated for their addiction as it is not doing them any good. Any suggestions?

Hello – My family is having a hard time with my brother. He is currently living on a $ 500 month unemployment check. His girlfriend and him just broke up and he wants to move home with my parents. Unfortunately, he has been an alcoholic for the past 8 years of his life. My parent’s want to find a rehab center for him before he moves back home. He is 29 years old and drinks a 24 pack of beer every day. Please, my family doesn’t have any money to send him. Is there anywhere we can send him?

Antibuse is a drug that interferes with the body’s ability to metabolize alcohol. I think it inhibits alcohol dehydrogenase. A few mouthfuls of alcohol and you’ll be wretching your guts out.
Naltrxone is another drug that decreases the urge to have subsequent drinks. Both remedies are recommended to be used in conjunction with a support group.

My uncle is finally ready to try to stop his long term drug and alcohol abuse. He needs a long term facility. We want to give him an intervention because we all know he wont do the research himself. Can anyone throw me some names of facilities that have reputable results. It can be anywhere in the US. I appreciate any suggestions.
