Question by Corey Z: Can I file and be accepted for unemployment insurance after failing a pre employment drug screen? (Nebraska)?
I know I was eligible here in October to file after talking with the state office, however I got a job but I didn’t take the pre employment drug screen before I physically started work at a place, then failed it. I don’t use, but, can this stop me from getting unemployment insurance now? Nebraska is the state I am filing in. I worked there for 2 and a half days, and said I was “Terminated”.

One of the places I will be drawing from is the place I tried to get a job at, so will this give them leverage against me? I was just trying to get back on.

you can always try, but most likely will get denied for cause; failing a drug test.

most employers state when you apply that as part of providing employment, you will be required to take a drug test and if you fail, they will not hire you or terminate you which they did.

until you find another job, i suggest you use NO DRUGS AT ALL. It is very rare anymore that someone hires you without a drug test and my guess is that at least 90% of employers do this.
