HI! Ok this situation is extremely difficult for me to put into words considering my ties to the people involved, but to give you a little bit of background my boyfriend and I have been together 4 years. He has a 17 year old Daugher who is out of control! The problem is that he nor his is ex wife will ever follow through with any punishments or treatments or anything necessary for their daughter. She has been to an out patient rehab program for drug abuse, right after that she came home so high on xanax that she ran away in the middle of the night, her boyfriend is in prison for stabbing someone and the latest situation just tops them all but yet just yesterday she gets to go out and get a brand new phone and clothes!
Let me say this, I know she is not my problem and I in no way want to have any control over her but I am constantly upset about what goes on with her and how very little is done! My questions is coming so please bear with me, and keep in mind this is about 2% of what has been going on with her but I do not have the time or energy to type more!

ok here goes! My boyfriends daughter borrowed a very expensive camera from a friend of hers a few months ago… not that it matters but i approached my boyfriend and let him know the camera was in her possession and her really needed to take it because of his daughters track record and in the end he would be responsible for replacing it… of course it was brushed off and about a month later the camera is gone!!! She claims she can’t find it and neither her mom or dad has done anything to get the poor girl her camera back… Well my sister is a professional photographer who lives with us in our spare room while going to school. She has an extremely nice Canon camera that cost about $ 999 2 years ago… The camera is in no way similar to the one previously mentioned and my boyfriends daughter is 100% aware of what my sisters camera looks like because she has used it several times. Last week my boyfriends daughter went to sacramento for the week to visit her grandparents and on friday we realize the my sisters camera is gone. after contacting the police I finally get my boyfriends daughter to admit she has it…( my boyfriend would have nothing to do with even asking his daughter if she had it because of course I was exaggerating and he was just sure it was home somewhere and my sister didn’t look hard enough) keep in mind that just a few hours before my sister was talking to my boyfriends daughter about how sara (the other girl with the missing camera) was still upset about not having it back yet and my boyfriends daughter stated that she still could not find it… (my sisters still has those text messages) well now all of a sudden her excuse for going into my sisters room and taking the camera is because she thought it was sara’s but yet she did not tell anyone she was taking it and instead of giving it back to sara she took it on vacation???????!!!!! She is a pathological liar and her father is fully aware of that but yet it seems everyone is quick to believe this bull crap story once again! well to make matters worse my sister leaves for nebraska this morning at 3 am to do several photo shoots for senior pictures. It is well into saturday morning by the time we find out my boyfriends daughter has the camera and no one seems to care that my sister needs it first thing monday morning in nebraska!!!!! Saturday at about 8 am we get a text message saying the camera has been sent and to “leave her alone” when we asked for the confirmation number we got nothing but the run around! I begged my boyfriend to please call her grandmother and find out the number but he refused, he said he didn’t want to talk to her! ( it is his ex;s mom but unfortunately his ex is worthless and selfish and would not return any of our calls regarding the situation!) therefore I called the grandmother because no one would cooperate and the grandmother basically said the same as his daughter, except that the camera had not been sent yet and it was a holiday and to please let them celebrate and they will send the camera on there own time! well not to make a long story even longer it turns out fed ex was not open Saturday or sunday so I hired a Currier service to pick it up in sacramento, put it on a plane and deliver it here to los angeles before my sister gets on a plane! it cost 300 bucks to do and all i got from my boyfriend was “what do u want me to do about it i don’t have any money” well now the camera is back and safe but we have a pending report against her that according to the officer may be considered grand theft because of the price of the camera but he was not sure because it was 2 years old and only cost 999 not 1000 bucks. My boyfriend is furious with my sister because she will not drop the charges even thoughthe camera is back… I am fully aware that my relationship is extremely fragile because of all of this but I am at my wits end. for some reason my post was cut off.. anywas just a little more detail, she is going to be 18 in a little over a month, i am worried this is going to just wipe right off her record! she also has been aressted for shoplifting before but never did the community service or pay the fines…. what is going to happen if we proceed? can we even do anything now that the camera is back?? im just worried she is going to get away with this again!!!!! it seems california law enforcement loves to just give minors a slap on the wrist! i want to make things work with my boyfriend because in every other aspect we are perfect, but until this stuff with her is taken care of i just can’t do it anymore, please don’t tell me to find a new boyfriend because i am already weighing that option, regaurdless i want her punished and i want to know what will happen!
