Sucks, bro. When you first take opiates you get a lot of a good high and little of a comedown. That scale tips the opposite way? reeeal fast. All of a sudden you’re taking a shit ton of pills just to feel normal, with a tinge of a high if you’re lucky. Cold turkey is rough, with the cold sweats, possible vomiting, loss of appetite, etc. but its the best way to go. after those 3-7 days of hell (depending on how far deep u are) then you feel better. Just stay there. No need to go back in the hole
You’re opitions are a cold turkey w non-opiate meds followed by naltraxone. This is the best way to go since you’re fully clean off opiates. Everyone is different true addicts will need? methadone or buprenorphine or at least a pure mg dosage being decreased.
I remeber 42x 80mg/week on IVIng OC. I grew worse and worse witth a tolerence of 240mg OC IV not being enough, Heroin wasn’t anything new. If you wanna know – 100k usd I almost blew on opiates.

Im kinda in the same boat you are in, coming off Methadone, gradually getting on Subuxone @ a clinic. Everyday is a struggle, taking it one day? at a time
Does anybody here have experience with coming off methadone and staying clean afterwards and actually beginning to enjoy their lives again? I really want that right? now, even though it seems so far away at times. Methadone keeps me clean but I am miserable, low energy, no sex-drive or motivation at all, have put on weight, basically my quality of life is not much better than it was on heroin in terms of happiness. How can I get my life back to normal, does anybody have any experience here?
I’m a heroin addict and have been on methadone now for just over a year following a 3 year progressive opiate addiction, beginning with recreational use of any opiate I could get my hands on (mainly oxys) and ending with a severe addiction to heroin (intravenous). Methadone has really, really cleaned up my life and keeps me off the streets, but I really want to get off this shit. There are lots of horrible side? effects and I’m just so sick of my life being completely, 100% controlled by opiates

Go get yourself a prescription? for Subutex. It’s the only way to go to avoid months of hell.

he’s become clean for quite a long time and just recently is now dabeling in opiate pills again. I think its more of a? psychological addiction once the chemical addictions gone, because he’s always struggeling with having drive, feeling…. feelings, numbness, unable to feel excitment etc. with the added desire to simply want those effects he recieved when using.

Respond? to me if you want. I could use a sober point of view here and there,and our addiction’s sound pretty similar. Im prescribed 30mgs roxicet,2mg’s xnax, and 20mg’s adderall. But I take about 90 to 100 mg’s of roxicet one to two bar’s of xnax, and snort like 3 to 4 adderall’s. Im fucked!

im leia 19… ive been sick for over 24 hours… im supposed to have something in a couple hours… suboxone didnt help a month ago my friend got cut off…. im just dependent, i just want to feel normal im pissed…. a year ago i was taking 5 80s a day… now 2 im just getting by.my life sucks have no friends, no money, no drive, no pills, no phone i havent had sex in 10 months lol…. i could relate? to everything, mybe this comment will help more than likely not its just words….
My advice to u is get vivitrol shots. Once a month u get a shot (vivitrol is naltraxone) it lets you learn how to live without taking a pill.. I tried subs and methadone. Subs are just as bad as methadone. It set me up for failure… I’m telling u vivitrol is amazing.. no opiates and it blocks? opiates.. helps u rebuild your life.. look into it.
The only thing that worked for me was was the Coleman institute and vivitrol.. roxy 30s are fourty dollars here in wv.. I got to the needle though but luckily only used for 3 months like that before I got help. A 6 year addiction? ruined my life but four months clean now. Good luck to y’all.. I’m 23 and starting my life over and my heart bleeds for those still suffering. Sub and methadone are a JOKE. Both money rackets and both harder to detox off of.
i almost lost my passion for music,? but i got my shit together n started making money, n im like dam… i got a house n a car from using money in other directions then dope… i wonder what else i can accomplish? ya kno, n i know the withdrawl pain man, do i ever. dopes still on my mind but i put prioritys ahead of it. its a hard road but exercise, good herbal tea, sober friends, and women, and for most FAMILY are the tools i rely on currently, but we live n learn.. glad im not the only one!
