Reseacher develops new malaria drug – Jonathan Vennerstrom, Ph.D. and his research team at the University of Nebraska Medical Center created a superior and inexpensive malaria drug — being touted as the best treatment to date. Hundreds of thousands of people in India, Africa and Middle East die of the mosquito transmitted disease each year. This treatment, produced in India, will save lives all over the world. MMV – which is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation – funded this research project.
