when would you consider it a financial problem?

Answer by Momperson
A shopping addiction is when you buy stuff you don’t need, and don’t even really like all that much, but you just keep putting it in the basket. It’s a financial problem when you buy junk but don’t have enough left for food, rent, utilities and gas for the car. If you are lying, hiding things you purchased and stealing money so you can keep on shopping, writing bad checks, running up the credit cards so you are paying one monthly payment by taking a cash advance on another one…I think you get the picture. There’s more, but why belabor the point. If you’re asking the question, chances are good you are addicted to shopping or love someone who is. It’s just like any other addiction, mostly an emotional problem with real life consequences. Get help for yourself or your loved one. Call shoppers anonymous. You can’t make it better with anger or guilt.

The term addiction tends to be used loosely. If you are actually addicted to something, for example, and could not indulge in your addiction, you would have real, physical and emotional withdrawal symptoms. Whatever the case with someone’s dependency on shopping, it does not matter what you call it — addiction, a bad habit, a problem, compulsive . . . The moment it starts to interfere with your ability to function normally and effects your overall quality of life, a particular behavior is a serious problem that requires attention.
For example, if you repeatedly spend more than you can afford, this will have a serious impact on you and your family. If you have to borrow money to pay off bills for things you did not really need in the first place, this is a problem that requires attention.
On the other hand, if you just really really like to shop and it makes you feel good – but does not cause any real problems in your life, i would say that you want to be aware and cautious, but do not need to treat the shopping as an addiction. A good test would be to try to go for some time without shopping and see how you feel. Is it very stressful? When you finish a shopping excursion are you already thinking about the next time you will shop? Is the shopping related to real needs or is it just shopping for the sake of shopping?

The fact that you are asking her would lead me to assume you have concerns and should examine the role shopping plays in your life right now. Early intervention is the best way to prevent a serious problem from developing.

These kind of hair products are not for everyday use, it will build up and
your hair will feel terrible, be hard to style and damage your hair. Use it
once in a while like after a colour or when you feel your hair needs
something extra. Everyday shampoos/conditioners should be lightweight no
protein etc. I have frizzy/curly hair and I use Matrix Biolage Smooth
Therapie Smoothing Shampoo/conditioner and it’s awesome. I’m in Australia
so not sure if it’s sold in the US? it’s all trial and error really. Love
your tutorials and reviews by the way :)?
